The Nigerian Way

                 We want cars without roads,

Air crafts without maintenance,

Offshores accounts/Assets while our community die in abject poverty,

Universities without lecturers n Facilities,

Private jets without runways,

First Class Degrees without any knowledge,

Electricity without power,

Best Cell phones without adequate network,

Government without institutions,

Hospitals without equipment,

A country without ethnic nationality,

Agreement always in a hurry but repeating the same mistakes which other human species had long mastered...
Have a happy weekend anyway.*wine*

World AIDS DAY : Have you been Tested?

Today is a day worth remembering.
PLEASE GO GET TESTED TO KNOW YOUR HIV status.....it saves life.

ZERO AIDS related Death.

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection has now spread to every country in the world. Statistics show that approximately 40 million people are currently living with HIV infection, and an estimated 25 million have died from this disease.
The scourge of HIV has been particularly devastating in sub-Saharan Africa and South Africa, but infection rates in other countries remain higher as well.

Infections in women are increasing. Worldwide, 42% of people with HIV are women.

In order to understand HIV and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), it is important to understand the meanings behind these terms:

HIV stands for the human immunodeficiency virus. It is one of a group of viruses known as retroviruses. After getting into the body, the virus kills or damages cells of the body's immune system. The body tries to keep up by making new cells or trying to contain the virus, but eventually the HIV wins out and progressively destroys the body's ability to fight infections and certain cancers.

The virus structure has been studied extensively, and this has helped scientists develop new treatments for HIV/AIDS. Although all HIV viruses are similar, small variations or mutations in the genetic material of the virus create drug-resistant viruses. Larger variations in the viral genes are found in different viral subtypes. Currently, HIV-1 is the predominant subtype that causes HIV/AIDS.

AIDS stands for the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. It is caused by HIV and occurs when the virus has destroyed so much of the body's defenses that immune-cell counts fall to critical levels or certain life-threatening infections or cancers develop.

P-SQUARE's private jet is fake: Tunde Ednut Says (TRUTH OR JEALOUSY)

Tunde Ednut was joking according to a tweet by Ebuka while at Rubbin’ Minds with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, a talk show on Channels Television.
TUNDE said that the private jet that has been rumoured to be owned by singing twin, P-Square is merely a celebrity hype.

The Kogi State born ‘Catching Cold’ crooner, also bared his mind on a lot of issues concerning showbiz and celebrity publicity in the country but it seemed the anecdote about P-Square was taken by many as a direct insult. Inshort, just after the show, there has been a lot of back-lash, so much it was that the show’s host had to come on Twitter to say that Ednut was not really serious about his comments.

Today,  Tunde is trending on  twitter with multiple reactions from P-SQUARE's fans and concerned Nigerians who can carry peoples matter on their heads like gala.

Meanwhile, the accused is yet to get a proforma invoice for his own ORIGINAL private yet...maybe P-Square needs to consult the guy when next they plan to buy a private jet.... still on the private jet tinz . lol

Confusion in Calabar: UNICAL Lecturers vs Police on ASUU strike

Many would wonder why there were gunshots,  and a standstill in the Capital City of Cross River in the early hours of Monday,  a carnival haven  which at present remains the most peaceful state in Nigeria today.

Calabar residents  panicked at first, due to the recent abduction of the deputy's governor's father some  residents  speculated that Militants were out on an attack on government personnel’s but eventually  Snazzy was found out from a reliable source reporting that;

The hundreds  heavily armed police drafted from formations around Calabar, the Cross River State capital on Monday who barricaded the main gate and other entrances to the University of Calabar to stop members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU from carrying out a planned city walk.

The police were led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, , Nnange Itam took over the entrances to the University of Calabar as early as 6am to carry out what they called order from above as usual !!

He reiterated “We have instructions to stop the lecturers from marching out of the university premises to the city (though the school environs was fully manned by armed policemen as well) because they could be attacked by their students who are angry over the prolonged strike and the market women who the other day protested to express their anger with the teachers” (Itam).
Furthermore, he said the lecturers are not demanding for increase in salary as the people are being made to believe but that ASUU is asking for the implementation of the other nine items on the Agreement the union had with the Federal Government in 2009.

He also narrated the genesis of the present ASUU strike with the following points;

1. Out of the ten items on the Agreement between the Federal Government us in 2009, only one item has been implemented and that is salary increase for the lecturers, so if the issue is on salary increase we would not be here but we are asking for the implementation of other nine issues amongst which is the improvement on the infrastructure in our universities.

 2. Any government that does not pay attention to education is a failure and no hunger policy can drive us back to the classrooms to face the same situation that we are protesting against; from the action of this government that is terming ASUU fight for better infrastructure in our universities for the children of the market women as politics, the Jonathan government is a failure.

Also speaking, Professor Festus Iyayi, the past Chairman of ASUU, said government is being intransigent by refusing to obey an Agreement that the Secretary to Government personally drafted on behalf of government and assured would be implemented by the latter.

He went further to allege that  a certain public office holder  personally drafted that Agreement that every year the government would release the sum of 400 billion naira for the development of infrastructure in the universities but government later reneged saying what was agreed was 100 billion naira”.

He said, “Our negotiation took three years, 2 months ago we had a committee meeting in the Senate convened and presided by Mrs. Chukwu Merije and I was shocked when Pius Anyim got there and claimed ownership of the document but when we began talking about the content he said I put in that document 100 billion Naira to be provided to the Education sector and Mrs. Chukwu Merije asked him if he did not cross check the document because in her copy it’s 400 billion Naira that is written, where did your one hundred billion come from?

Further allegation includes a number one man in  Benue State as being a contractor, in his words  “a scandalous contractor even when the money was far from materializing he had already proposed and recommended several contractors to build hostels in our tertiary institution with 1.4 million Naira per bed space and he boasted that he has already built such in his institution which is outrageous and when we presented it to the Vice President he promised to look into it but nothing has been done.

Interesting: ILO Tasks Nigerian Government on Health and Safety bill

Arise oh compatriots.............Nigeria's  call obey!!

Nigeria , giants of Africa as usual  had slept on the proposed Health and Safety bill of September 2012 only to be awoken by an International body to pass sign this bill into a Law.

While our Government sleeps on the bill, some of our workplaces are not different from death traps!!

As reported ‘’INTERNATIONAL Labour Organisation, ILO, Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations, CEACR, has called on Nigeria to take necessary measures towards ensuring that the Occupational Safety and Health Bill becomes a law’’ (Vanguard, 2013).

The proposed bill contains hazardous work that should not be performed by children under the age of 18 years. The CEARC is the ILO supervisory body which addresses observations and directs request to member states.

The committee, in its 2013 report, charged government to ensure that the Child Rights Act of 2003, which prohibits the worst form of child labour in the country, comes into force in all the states of the federation. The report noted that only 26 states in Nigeria have enforced the Child Rights Act 2003, and called on government to take necessary measures to ensure that all states comply with the provisions of the law before the end of 2013.

The committee further asked government of Nigeria to provide information with regard to enforcement of the Child Rights Act in the remaining states.

On the Safety and Health Bill, the committee frowned at Section 28 (1)(c) and (2) of the Child Rights Act provides that children under the age of 18 years shall not lift, carry or move heavy materials that are likely to harm their health of hazardous work. ( but trust our Government but wait !!! Did anyone state the recommended safe load if they are putting restrictions? What can be considered heavy in Nigeria? 50kg? )gegege.

Hear our Federal Government, ‘’ We had indicated that the Occupational Safety and Health Bill, which is currently before the National Assembly, contains a list of types of hazardous work prohibited to young persons under the age of 18 years. In addition, the Bill, government explained has also identified the areas where the types of hazardous work exist’’ Embarrassing  cos even 8yrs old are working in Nigeria directly or indirectly

Consequently,

1. The Committee urged
government to expedite action in the passage of the Bill and requested the government to supply a copy to it, once it has been adopted.

2. The Committee asked the
Nigerian Government to Provide information with regard to the enforcement of the Child Rights Acts in the remaining states where it has not been enforced.

3. The ILO supervisory body equally asked
government to take necessary measures to validate and adopt the National Policy on Child Labour and the National Action Plan against Child Labour developed within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) project.

4. It also charged
government to provide information on its implementation and impact on eliminating child labour.

5. The ILO boss said clear
lessons emerged from the plenary sessions that demonstrated a growing understanding of what needs to be done to eliminate child labour in a sustainable way, and that not only governments but also other actors – workers’ and employers’ organizations, businesses and civil society – are taking up their responsibility and showing increasing leadership.

Ryder warned that as the number of child labourers go down, the job of combating child labour will get tougher because it will be about getting to those children who are difficult to reach – child soldiers, children being exploited sexually, children working on farm fields and other dangerous environments.

Question time:

I. How has the Nigerian Government reacted to this?

II. Do we even need reactive approach against Proactive about issues like this?

III. Will this government ever sign this bill?

IV. Who will follow up for feedback on this?

V. Will the passage of this bill create a Positive Safety culture in Nigeria?

VI. How many Nigerians knows about this proposed Health and safety bill?

Answers to these questions are the REASONS why Snazzy Won’t Rest Until the Corporate Manslaughter is arrested and dealt with in Nigeria.

Techno phone or Latest Blackberry Z30

Blackberry Z30 announced

More hilarious than April fool, meet September fool as BlackBerry pauses BBM rollout for Android and iOS following leak.

We hope you weren't scheduling your weekend around the launch of BBM for Android and iOS, as BlackBerry has paused the roll out following a leak of the Android version. There were too many simultaneous users, the company says; with over 1.1 million active clients in the first eight hours, the messaging service just wasn't ready to handle the load. There's no mention of when the BBM deployment will continue, although BlackBerry is disabling the unofficial Android build to prevent future problems. Unless you grabbed BBM's iOS version in the first several hours, you'll just have to be patient.

Techno Phone vs Z30

Is this a reason why you should go get the BB Z30 latest BB flagship?

Yes! If  BBM was released for Android and iOS how would blackberry sell Z30? Ponder on this!!! Gegege

The release of the F7 Android smartphone phone by Tecno has taken  many smartphone users by surprise.First i thought was not from Tecno. The tecno F7 mobile phone is an enhanced version of Tecno N7 phone and is running on google android operating system Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean, I GHz quad core CPU, large display of 5.0 inches touchscreen with a 8 mega pixels camera with LED flash. The android phone is having dual camera of 8 mega pixels rear camera with flash and 1.2 mega pixels front facing camera for video calling.

The BB Z30;

Blackberry,
BB has revealed its new flagship 5-inch BlackBerry Z30 smartphone at an event in Malaysia with the promise it will be available to buy in the UK from next week.
Rumours had been circulating that BlackBerry was planning a new phone, but given recent high profile releases of the Samsung S4,  iPhone 5s, Galaxy Note 3 and Xperia Z1, there was an absence of fanfare.
The BlackBerry Z30 is the Canadian company’s fourth device to arrive with the BlackBerry 10 operating system following the BlackBerry Z10,Q10 and Q5 released earlier this year.
As well as the 5-inch Super AMOLED display, the Z30 also boasts a 1.7GHz processor with quad-core graphics and a 2,880mAh battery (competitor to the Samsung S4).
Several new features have been added, such as the new BlackBerry Priority Hub which collects priority messages from email, social networks and other accounts and presents them for your perusal.
BlackBerry has also added stereo speakers and what it calls BlackBerry Natural Sound – enhancements aimed at improving the clarity of voice and video calls.
Verging on phablet territory, the Z30 will go head-to-head with 5-inch Android handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Sony Xperia Z1. But it might not be enough to pull the fading smartphone company back from the brink.

Oya , make up ya mind as andriod aint getting BBM anytime soonest.......Lol
