Is Port Harcourt, Nigeria Airport safe? - FAAN Reassures General Public

So much attention has been drawn to the Oil city of Nigeria ''Port Harcourt'' not for good but politically motivated unrest in the Rivers  State capital.

However, the group coordinator, aviation parastatals boss -Yakuza Dati Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria ( FAAN) has reassured  members of the public and air travelers that the Port Harcourt International Airport is safe and secure. He   said,” The Authority places emphasis on the security and safety of all users of the airport nationwide, even as we continue to improve on all facilities that ensure that airport users have a pleasant experience at the airports”.

However, some of the easiest ways to fall victim to security threats and other disasters at the airport involve being hung up in the hustle and bustle of traveling. Too often, people lose concentration and focus while in a traveling mindset. This can lead to forgotten tickets, misplaced luggage, tardiness, and getting lost or separated from others. The more disoriented and hectic a traveler becomes, the more likely they’ll be to find themselves vulnerable to assault, theft, and a wide variety of other crimes.

Though it can seem inconvenient to plan ahead for periods of travel, doing so can take only minutes, whereas suffering the consequences of poor planning can cost hours if not days of time and may also lead to significant financial losses. Travelers who keep their belongings organized, know where their essential items are packed, create back-up plans in case of emergencies, and who are otherwise calm and well-attuned to what’s happening around them are far less likely to experience problems at the airport. Meaning you just need to be your own security for a successful trip around, to and fro airports.

Have a safe flight !
