WICKEDNESS: BABY FACTORY BUSTED IN NIGERIA

Baby factory news is no more news in Nigeria as it seems to happen everyday in different Nigerian towns mostly in the Eastern part of Nigeria.

An illegal maternity, Known as 'Moonlight Maternity home'  located at Coal Camp area of Enugu metropolis has been busted by Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps  (NSCDC)  in Enugu, acting on a tip off .
T
he NSCDC state Commander Nathaniel Ubong, disclosed that the discovery of the home was aftermath of serious and tedious surveillance mounted by his men around the said maternity after receiving  information on the illicit trade from spirited members of the public.

Meanwhile, the  NSCDC chief said the command was disturbed because 'Moonlight maternity home' is not in the list of hospitals submitted to them by the state Ministry of Gender affairs accredited to engage in child fostering in the state. But in his reaction, Dr Ben Agbo, claimed that he is only rendering humanitarian services to couples that are finding it difficult to have children their own biological babies. Asked to explain where about of the mother of the two day old baby found in the maternity home, Agbo said she went away to solicit for financial assistance and was yet to return.

Agbo claims to  charge between One hundred and one twenty thousand naira, for a child, to enable him cover the cost of delivery and other Medicares on the child and the mother, and the mother of the baby is
thereafter settled with about twenty thousand naira, end of story.

The security operatives disclosed to to newsmen that  files that contains records of previous transactions and current applications from people seeking to buy new born child from the maternity home were discovered in their raid. According to them, Some of the records according to the security outfit showed that some babies were sold for about Five hundred and fifty thousand naira.

Besides, they equally discovered records of transactions, where some clients deposited up to two hundred thousand naira, promising to pay up the agreed balance whenever the baby is delivered to them.

However, Dr Agbo who is said to be over 70 years of age accepted that he had been doing the unholy business in the past ten years, and have been arrested and released severally just because he can bribe his way out, hence we pray this would not be another ''arrest and bribed out case''.
